Classic French Heavy Metal Band SORTIL?GE Reunites For Special Paris Tribute Concert

 
Four members of the classic French heavy metal band SORTIL?GE reunited for a special tribute concert on April 19 at Petit Bain in Paris, France. Musicians appearing at the event included: SORTIL?GE members * Christian "Zouille" Augustin (Vocals) * Didier Demajean "Dem" (Guitar) * Daniel Lapp "Lapin" (Bass) * Jean-Philippe Dumont "Bob Snake" (Drums) Guest musicians * Bruno Ramos (Guitar - MANIGANCE) * Nicklaus Bergen (Guitar - ADX) * Alexis Roy-Petit (Vocals - H?RLEMENT) * Lynda Basstarde (Vocals - FURIES) * Yves Campion (Bass - NIGHTMARE) Video footage of the concert can be seen below.

Formed in 1981, SORTIL?GE released a self-titled EP in 1983 and followed it up with an amazing debut album, "M?tamorphose", one year later. The two releases quickly gained cult status, and are now known as some of the most important — if not the most important — heavy metal releases from France.

Augustin previously performed the band's classic songs at the 2009 edition of the Keep It True XII festival in Lauda-K?nigshofen, Germany (where he appeared under the ZOUILLE & FRIENDS banner).

Although SORTIL?GE's original albums all featured French lyrics (as did practically all French metal albums back in the '80s), English-language versions of the band's two albums ("M?tamorphose" and 1986's "Larmes De H?ros") were also made available.
