M?TLEY CR?E's 'Kickstart My Heart' Featured In Trailer For 'The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge On The Run'

 
M?TLEY CR?E's classic song "Kickstart My Heart" is featured in the trailer for "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge On The Run". Due in theaters on May 22, 2020 via Paramount Pictures, the latest movie will be the first almost entirely CGI adaptation of the Nickelodeon TV series "SpongeBob SquarePants", which first premiered in 1999.

It is the third SpongeBob movie, following on from 2004's "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie" and 2015's "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water".

This is not the first time "Kickstart My Heart", from M?TLEY CR?E's 1989 album "Dr. Feelgood", has been featured in a film. Back in 2017, the song was included in the trailer for "The Lego Batman Movie". More recently, the track was heard in Planters's first-ever Super Bowl ad, which air this past February.

Last year, M?TLEY CR?E recorded four new songs for "The Dirt" movie, including the single "The Dirt (Est. 1981) (Feat. Machine Gun Kelly)", "Ride With The Devil", "Crash And Burn" and the band's own spin on Madonna's "Like A Virgin".

M?TLEY CR?E's last studio album was 2008's "Saints Of Los Angeles", which was followed by a 2009 "Greatest Hits" compilation.

In 2015, M?TLEY CR?E completed "The Final Tour", closing the book on the band's iconic career after performing a total of 164 shows in 72 markets, grossing over $100 million.
