Two SHINEDOWN Singles Get Certified By RIAA

Two singles from SHINEDOWN's 2015 album "Threat To Survival" have been freshly certfified by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America). On Apri 3, "Cut The Cord" achieved platinum status (one million units; each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams) while "State Of My Head" officially went gold (500,000 units; each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams).

In February 2016, the RIAA began including on-demand audio and video streams and a track sale equivalent in determining which releases get the coveted album awards, a change that followed a similar tweak in 2013 to include on-demand streams for its Digital Single Award.

As part of the new rules, 1,500 streams count as an album unit. This move came on the heels of its 2013 alteration to its Gold Single award where it announced that 100 streams would count as a single download, and in January 2016 had upped that ratio to 150 streams in recognition of how streaming had grown.

SHINEDOWN's follow-up to "Threat To Survival", "Attention Attention", debuted at No. 1 on the Top Rock Albums chart back in May 2018.

SHINEDOWN kicked off its 2019 "Attention Attention" world tour on February 20 in Estero, Florida at Hertz Arena.
